Move Proved to be Invaluable during Super Storm Sandy

Philadelphia, Pa—December 7, 2012— Infradapt announced today that when it was hired by structural engineering firm Keast & Hood to outfit the firm with the responsiveness of cloud computing, as well as off-premise data storage, the benefits went beyond saving the firm time and money; it safeguarded their investment during super storm Sandy.

Keast & Hood determined that their 40 employees in Washington DC and Philadelphia needed new hardware, software, and other programs that require large amounts of horsepower, they were faced with a gigantic price tag and a solution that would only get them through the next few years before making yet another round of changes.

John Reilly, Managing Partner at Infradapt, explains that the company created a two-month test phase that allowed Keast & Hood to experiment with the systems by demonstrating the responsiveness of the cloud, and defining storage requirements, video capabilities, software, and hardware needs of the firm.  “Shortly after the test phase was completed, we outfitted the firm with more than 40 personal computers, and specialized software to meet the demands of the firm and their clients.”

Fred Baumert, Principal at Keast & Hood, explains that there were many benefits to working with Infradapt; namely working directly with Infradapt’s Managing Partners, who designed the system.

“Being able to work with the top guys was enormously helpful, and something you won’t find with many other IT infrastructure companies,” says Baumert. “We have had such a good relationship with Infradapt that I knew they’d make it work or admit it wasn’t worth pursuing.”

But Keast & Hood’s biggest benefit came following Hurricane Sandy that hit the eastern seaboard in October 2012 and took a toll on many companies in the Philadelphia region.

“Infradapt’s Managing Partners called us days before the storm to explain that there was a possibility that their help desk may not be available, but expressed full confidence that their server was going to be fine,” Baumert explains. “They even went so far as to call me at home in the midst of the storm to make sure that Senior Management was able to conduct business with clients in remote locations who were not even aware of the severity of the storm. In fact, we were able to meet a critical deadline that week while other companies found themselves with downed servers. Infradapt truly goes above and beyond.”
