HACE will be hosting its Ninth Annual Fiesta Caribeña on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Fairhill Square Park, 2600 N 4th Street (located at Lehigh Avenue and Lawrence Street in Eastern North Philadelphia). The purpose of this free family event is to provide valuable information to residents of the Fairhill and St. Hugh Neighborhoods on housing, social services and health programs. In this vision residents will obtain information to access benefits that will improve their quality of life, learn about training and education resources, and direct them to employment opportunities in the area. Various community organizations, social service providers, lending institutions and representatives from City Departments will be available to discuss issues with attendees and provide useful information. In addition, families will enjoy a day filled with music, dance performances, free games and prizes. Last year’s event was a great success. Not only did we enjoy a record number of attendees, we had over 30 organizations participated in the event.
As a nonprofit organization we have to implement a diversified outreach strategy to inform our residents of the various programs and resources available in the community to help them access services and benefits to improve their quality of life. Funding for outreach initiatives such as Fiesta Caribeña is very limited and is challenging for us to fund as most of our funding is restricted to direct services. If you would like to help sponsor, please contact Nate Kline at 484-546-2028.
Your contribution will help us make this even a success for our community as a whole and we hope that you consider supporting HACE in this effort.
Founded in 1982, HACE’s goal is to make our core neighborhoods a place of choice for a mixed income, ethnically diverse population. Our organization’s mission is to address the concerns of the community through a comprehensive strategy that defines tangible projects and programs into manageable geographical boundaries. This strategy allows HACE to build stable areas that attract private and public investments, support the commercial corridor by increasing its client base, and develop partnerships with the business community and other organizations to create jobs and provide services for our residents.
